Why Sword and Seed exists.
Many wounds of our time are father wounds: absent fathers, directionless men, families without support. The answer is not the harder man – nor the vanished one. But the man whose strength has a direction.
The Name
A sword that serves. A seed that grows.
The Sword
It stands for the Word of God (Eph 6:17) – and for mastered strength. “Put your sword into its sheath!” (Jn 18:11). The strongest hand is the one that could strike and chooses to protect instead. Gentleness is not the absence of strength, but its mastery.
The Seed
It stands for the growth that God gives (Mk 4:26–29), and for handing on: entrusting what you have received to faithful men (2 Tim 2:2). Fathers sow. The earth produces of itself.
The Story
From an idea to a way.
Sword and Seed began as an idea for discipleship – and its first shape looked like a fight. Brothers and sisters told us so honestly, and they were right: where strength is about itself, it gets loud. So the center became clearer.

To accompany men in the German-speaking world on the way of true masculinity and fatherhood – with insights, fellowship, and programs, in and with the Catholic Church.

What we do not claim.
- That masculinity were an achievement to be earned. It is gift and task.
- That this topic did not concern women. It does – we simply write for men first.
- That the Church were without fault. She is holy and wounded at once; we love her without denying her wounds.
- That other traditions had nothing to say. We read C.S. Lewis with profit.
